Mares

We recognize that the direct sire line to Justin Morgan is very important however we also realize that the mares are more than fifty-percent in a breeding program. We have been very fortunate by acquiring high quality mares that carry a high percentage of Justin Morgan, Daniel Lambert and Jubilee King blood. We chose mares that go back to Criterion through different sons and daughters to give us a diverse gene pool. Although all of them are related, they each bring a unique and necessary element to our program.

Quietude Treasure

(Crawford x Daisy Woodbury)
Foaled 1993, 13.3 hh  dark chestnut

The old adage, “good things come in small packages” certainly applies to this mare. It all started with this “Treasure” as she was our first Lambert. From cow pony to kids’ mount this little mare lives up to her name in so many ways. She truly is a “Treasure” and carries over 21% of Justin Morgan’s blood. She is a wonderful broodmare, producing Rolling Acres AmazinGrace for us among other quality offspring for previous owners. My sons show her successfully at the local shows in a variety of classes; showmanship, halter, Western walk/jog, trail, barrel racing, game days and ride her extensively on the trail.

FLASH! Levi won 2012 Wayne County 4-H High Point Rider Award with Treasure.

Quietude Calypso

(Quietude Merit x Quietude Cherish)
Foaled 1998, 14.3 hh  dark chestnut

Calypso is one of those monumental mares with three crosses to Criterion in four generations. She is a honest, well-built mare. What she lacks in chrome she makes up for in type. She has that beautiful Morgan head, well-sprung ribs, a strong loin, well-laid back shoulder, nice sloping hip and stands square on all four corners. Along with correct conformation, she has a wonderful temperament and a great work ethic. My eldest son, Samuel, claims her for his mount and has taken her to week-long horse camps, local shows and rides her extensively on the trails. Many thanks to Sharon Amick of Times Past Morgans for entrusting this mare to us. She’s the kind of Morgan that dreams are made of…

FLASH! Samuel won Western Walk/Jog, 4-H Walk/Favorite Gait and Open Walk/Favorite Gait at the May 2013 Wayne County Open Show with Calypso.

Times Past Jubilee Rose

(Quietude Jubilee Kingdom x Quietude Caitlin)
Foaled 1999, 14.1 hh flaxen chestnut

This mare has a beautifully woven pedigree with four crosses to Criterion in four generations giving her 50% of Criterion’s blood. She lives up to her rich Criterion heritage. She has that grand Lambert trot and carries herself with a certain air about her. She has substance, stamina and attitude yet she is feminine. The Morgan horse slogan, “the horse that chooses you,” fits Jubilee Rose perfectly as she has certainly chosen me! She is my favorite riding horse. If that wasn’t enough to ‘win’ my heart, in May of 2011 she gave us the lovely filly, Rolling Acres MorninGlory.

Times Past Ireland Rose
(Quietude Isaac x Quietude Rose of Sharon)
Foaled 2003, 14.1 hh flaxen chestnut

Where to begin…this mare is a pocket pony and the first to greet you when enter the pasture. She was not started under saddle until seven years of age. My niece, Ashlee, was without a mount and I offered to let her use Ireland if she would train her. I put less than twenty rides on her and handed Ashlee the reins in March 2011. Since that time, she attended a week-long horse camp, earned Reserve High Point Intermediate Hunt Seat Division and won Wayne County High Point Rider Award in 2011. She has been ridden Hunt Seat, Western and on the trail extensively. In 2012 Ashlee trained Ireland to drive under my direction and she took to driving like a duck to water. We also use Ireland to work cattle. She is the poster child for a versatile Morgan. She is owned by niece, Ashlee Smith.

FLASH! Ashlee brings home Grand Champion Intermediate Trail Horse Trophy from 2013 Southern District Horse Camp with Ireland.

Times Past Trilby Rose
(Courtship of Quietude x Quietude Caitlin)
Foaled 2003, 14.3 hh dark chestnut

If a picture is worth a thousand words then I need say no more.

Wow! This double Criterion granddaughter has it all. She is a very correct mare with a beautiful neck that ties in at the withers. Her well-laid back shoulder and long sloping hip make this mare well balanced and therefore very athletic. Her Woodbury heritage gives her a beautifully chiseled head and tipped ears. Her pedigree carries a wonderful blend of the best of the Lambert and Woodbury bloodlines. She is a female version of Justin Morgan. She has been started under saddle. I have long admired this mare and we are thrilled to add her to our herd. She is owned by niece Ashlee Smith.

Times Past Rose of Susan

(Quietude Isaac x Quietude Rose of Sharon)
Foaled 2006, 14.1 hh solid chestnut

Another rose has been added to our herd and like a rose, Susie has blossomed into a thing of beauty. She has a special elegance and feminity about her. She doesn't stand out in a crowd, she isn't splashed with white or even flaxen but once you get to know her you see her beauty shining from within. She has excellent movement that is free-flowing from her shoulder with impulsion from the rear. Because she is so light on her feet and can clear a 4' door from a stand still, I see jumping in her future. She is a full sister to our Ireland Rose and following in her footsteps to become a very solid trail mount. She is owned by niece Ashlee Smith.

Times Past Pocahontas

(Quietude Castile x Quietude Calypso)
Foaled 2006, 15 hh flaxen chestnut

Big, bold and beautiful aptly describes this mare.  Pocahontas has five crosses to Criterion in five generations and it shows in every way.  She has his ‘grand’  Lambert trot and his ‘golden’ Lambert temperament. She carries herself with the greatest of ease.  Pocahontas has proven herself to be a wonderful broodmare by giving us our 2012 bay colt, Rolling Acres Legend. She has also proven herself to be a wonderful trail horse. She has that “mission” walk so admired by Morgan fans, a ground covering trot, and the smoothest canter.

Congratulations to Gwen Edkins of New York on the purchase of Pocahontas for her trail partner!

Rolling Acres AmazinGrace

(Quietude Castile x Quietude Treasure)
Foaled 2009, flaxen chestnut

My greatest treasure in life is “God’s grace” hence the name. Watching Castile’s last daughter in action, it’s easy to see that she lives up to her name. She is classy, she is elegant, she is…"grace." This triple Criterion great-granddaughter is a rare beauty inside and out. To quote Susan Hanley, “Castile’s daughter, Grace, is truly a gift to the Lambert family!” We could not be more pleased with our first Rolling Acres Lambert. Grace was claimed by my middle son, Levi, since her birth. I told him if he trained her, she would be his. She is now owned by Levi!

FLASH! Grace takes 3rd place in Open Trail Class at May 2013 Wayne County Open Show. This was her first time leaving the farm.
